ITEM!

The main page of the Birmingham International Comics Show 2008 at http://www.thecomicsshow.co.uk/ features Davis/Farmer art of the Green Lantern Corps in cropped form. (Or should I say corpped form? Hee-hee.)

The full pencil art for this piece is up on Alan's site at http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/images/WGL-Corp.jpg . In a Sept. 5, 2007 art gallery update on his site, Alan wrote of the piece:

"I began this page during the time I thought my proposal for the Green Lantern relaunch had been accepted. Mark Farmer is currently inking it for inclusion in the Birmingham Artshow convention book."

As far as I'm aware, the full Davis/Farmer illo did indeed see print in the BICS 2007 Souvenir Programme (I don't have a copy).

According to Wizard, the half-Skrull-faced variant cover for Captain Marvel #4 (out March 19th) won't be the last time a character shows up all (or should I say half?) Skrully on a variant.

From http://www.wizarduniverse.com/032508marketwatch.html :

SECRET SKRULL VARIANTS
The invasion has begun! If you didn’t notice, last week's Captain Marvel #4 had a secret Skrully variant which featured a half green faced Captain Marvel. More secret variants are being mixed in a shop's regular orders at about one for every nine copies. Keep an eye on the following other issues in the coming months for more secret Skrull action: New Exiles #4, Young X-Men #1, Amazing Spider-Girl #19, Ghost Rider #22, Uncanny X-Men #497, Black Panther #36, and Cable #3.

So keep an eye out for a Skrull variant on the Davis/Farmer-drawn cover to Black Panther #36, scheduled for an April 30th release. But...who amongst the Royal Couple will be shown Skrullesque? Will T'Challa's face being covered by a mask make such a question moot? Stay tuned!
