Greetings Alan,
This might seem like an obvious question but did you design the characters that first appeared in this issue: Crimson Commando, Stonewall and Super Sabre?

I voted for Argent too. Cool power. In order: Argent, Wallop, Vex, Adam, Cuckoo, Imp, Crimson Crusader and Newton. I usually like the strong guys the best, but Wallop just strikes me as a variation on the Hulk (albeit a somewhat interesting one; would like to see a confrontation between the two). Ca...

Betsy's finest hour was when she was taking on Sabretooth in the X Mansion. She looked everybit the English rose but showed her grit and determination throughout. Well said, Vyrt. And I'm sure a lot of readers were wondering why this Alan Davis fellow wasn't the regular penciler of X-Men at the time.

I also disliked the change to Betsy. I think it would've worked as a temporary thing, but making it the status quo just sort of ruined the character. However, I of course loved here appearance in EXCALIBUR #'s 55 & 56. Alan somehow managed to characterize her as the old Betsy while staying true to t...

Fair points, Ilke.
And wow, that Kabuki swipe is almost as obvious as the Green Lantern one.

Could be, but it's just not the same if Alan doesn't draw and/or write it (also, judging by Transmetropolitan and his Thor run, Ellis strikes me as a bit too cynical for Excalibur). The Excalibur run that Alan wrote and penciled is one of my favorite things ever (I wish it could be collected), in an...
