Cockrum, the passing of a great.

Post by Entropy »

For those who haven't heard, Dave Cockrum passed away the other day.

It was very shocking to come home from thanksgiving and see this horrible news. Dave and I talked a few times over at Nightscrawlers and he was always great to talk to. Cockrum's style always made me smile and laugh, it had such personality. One of my favorites was the Nightcrawler mini he did in the 80's. Swashbuckling fun the whole way through. His work with DC's Legion and the X-men were also both phenominal.

Truly one of the greats.
RIP Kurt Vonnegut and Lloyd Alexander.

Insanity is all in the mind.

I agree. Dave was one of the old time greats. I never had a chance to meet him but I did chat with him on a message board (the old X-Fan boards) and he was extremely nice.

I first caught his art on the reprint series Classic X-Men. Loved his art from the start.

He will be missed... :(
