Much more "cosmic" in scale to the first series - I really enjoyed Alan's take on the New Gods (something I've been looking forward to since AD's covers for Genesis) and a lot of the supernatural stuff.
The mini-series format seems to suit Alan better, much as I love his Excaliber, BATO, Detective and X-Men work (heck even the weekly stuff that first caught my eye), but it always appeared to me that Alan could relax more on these and produce some really stunning visuals.
I just re-read The Nail and Another Nail and still find them awesome both story and art.
I would still like to see Alans take on the Metal Men in a mini series though. His fluid style suits them perfectly.
The only thing that bugged me in Nail2 was that Cliff Steele(Robotman) looked too thin.
