Excalibur Who's in your team?

Post by muckyshoe »

Why can't we have the team from the mini series back? They were good enough for me!

Seriously though an ALL British Isles team. You decide!

I don't know anything about current Excalibur continuity but...

Captain Britain
Meggan
Shadowcat
Nightcrawler
Kylun
Cerise

I would go with:

Captain Britain
Meggan
Psylocke
Black Knight
Union Jack
Spitfire
Banshee

And maybe a Marvel UK character or two. Death's Head or Albion or someone like that. I think the Cap/Union Jack relationship could be interesting.

The original line-up was always my favorite.

I'd love for an Excalibur: The End series or something similar. Something that is probably an alternate future/what if. Where Alan would tell the end of lets say the Captain Britain Corps, Otherworld and I suppose the Multiverse.

We'd learn Meggan's true origin, well Alan's origin for her. Captain Britain and Meggan's kids, assuming they'd had some. Guest starring everyone still living, from the original Excalibur like: Rachel, Kurt, Kitty, Lockheed, Kylun, Cerise, Micromax, Psylocke, Feron, Widget, Kymri, Big Lockheed, Jamie Braddock, Roma, Saturnyne, Merlin and so on.

What does everyone else think?

I think that's a brilliant idea!!!

A "What if" Alan Davis finished the original Excalibur series? It would definitely give a respectful and decent end to the Excalibur franchise from the first volume. I would love to see Alan's direction rather than the mess that transpired after his departure. There was so much promise, but thank goodness much of the original team disbanded, otherwise, they'd butcher everyone to no end. I think Cerise was the first casuality from his departure. Hated how she ended up.

Yep.
Although I really like -and own- all of Alan's great comic books about the good old captain, he isn't one of my favourites.

I guess I don't really care for all the drapped-in-a-flag characters.

Also, after Alan Davis's departure, Excalibur existed for several years without Brian Braddock. OK, it wasn't a really good time back then, but still...

If I were picking the Excalibur roster...

Captain Britain
Alistaire Stuart
Pete Wisdom
Elsa Bloodstone
Hell's Angel
Kylun
Meggan
John The Skrull ;)

If I had to pick non-British character concepts, though, I would opt for characters from nations who have strong or logical ties to Britain.

For example I'd love to see Neal Sharra (Thunderbird III) on this title. Britain is never really shown as multicultural in Marvel, nearly enough. It's perefectly plausible for the sone of a wealthy Indian family to have relations in England - perhaps some of who would not be quite so unwilling to associate with mutants.

Or possibly Lifeguard. She wouldn't be the first Australian to spenbd some time in Great Britain. Neother would she be the first AShi'ar related character. I miss Cerise :(

My Excalibur

Post by LatterDayKnight »

Well, the British Isles-only rule is a bit much I think...

Captain Britian
Psylocke
Chamber
Banshee
Syrn

But If I were to have unlimted fun, I'd really put the swords back in Excalibur:

Captain Britian (with the otherworldly coolest sword ever (maybe adding a M'kran crystal shard in the hilt...))
Nightcrawler (with some foils!)
Shadowcat (with Katana and Sai - I mean, c'mon, she is a ninja and she could spar with...)
Psylocke (with astral sword thingie... y'know, the pink one)
Phionex II (with y'know, the sword of phionex!)
Magik (and soulsword)

And while Swordless, I would also include:
Widget / Kate of Earth-811
Syrn

Reserve members:
Kylun (reserve member, I mean, with Mystic swords he Has to be)
Cerise
Noturne
