On checking out some of your thumbnails and then some of your rejected pencil pages, I got to thinking - Do you purely use the thumbnails as a working ground to throw ideas out or do you actually blow them up (ala Neal Adams) to use. I am thinking the former judging by some of the layout work that is visible on the rejected pencils. Be grateful if you could clear that up.
I prefer using real 'wooden' pencils but haven't done so for over fifteen years just because a mechanical pencil is more convenient. I don't know what type they are. I have been using them for so long all of the identifying marks have worn of.
