Birmingham Comic Expo

Post by Bluemeanie »

Hi,
I have noticed you and Mark Farmer are due to be making an appearance at the above con/expo.
Just wondering if you knew of any scheduled events you would be appearing at, like happened at Bristol, or if it was more of a loosly planned deal.

Thanks, and look forward to meeting you again.

On a sad side note, after attending your panel and also getting a lovely sketch from you at Bristol I was actually stood next to you at the bar in the evening and had the most idiotic inner monologue of "Buy him a beer... no he'll think you are an idiot... but it'd be ok.... but you're drunk.... " etc etc
By which point you had gone. Ah well, the joys of hotel bars

There events are all planned, I know I’m up for the ‘quick draw’ again, but I have no idea of the schedule.

Don’t worry, I’m not half as intimidating as I look.

The Comic Artists Flip Out event that Alan is participating in, which involves artists "creating giant size original sketches," will be held on Sat., Oct. 13th at 11:30 am in Room 1.

LOL.... yeah, I'll be honest the thought "...and he's a big lad" popped in my head as well.
Well if I see you in the bar on Saturday I'll be sure and at least offer to get you a beer this time

Hi,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to again say thank you for the amazing sketch you did me at Birmingham, despite my catching you at the end of a heavy stint of signing and sketching.

As for the promised beer.... I would have, but while I did venture into the VIP area in the pub we were in, you were sat with friends and I didnt want to intrude. Had I seen you at the bar however I would definately have made the offer.
As it was a friend of mine told Mark Farmer I was a fan and not only did I have a fun, if a little slurred on my part, chat with him, but he also then shouted "RICHARD!!" at me every time he subsequently went past... which my inner nerd got a hell of a kick out of.

Hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we all did.

Oh, and of course, just for the others on the board, here is the sketch in question which will be going up on the wall next to the Harley Quinn you were good enough to draw me at Bristol

Do you know Stephen? I was out with him for most of the Saturday. Just finished his first collected trade as well... Mythos. Good stuff.
