Quick X-men Question

Post by Gordon Somers »

Alan

I saw your final issue of Uncanny and was a bt dismayed to see on a page where you had clearly drawn the coast off Backpool referred to in the text as "The West Country". Does a writer not researching enough bother you at all? I realise that not too many readers in the States will see the glitch, but it realy gets my hackles up sometimes (just like when I read True Brit and saw Ipswich spelled "Ipswitch" - YAARGHH!!).

Anyway - hope all is well in your neck of the woods

I haven't seen the issue in print but Blackpool was the location requested in the plot-- although, as anyone familiar with Blackpool will know, I took the liberty of inventing a huge storm drain to help smooth out the scene transition between the beach and old church. For anyone not familiar with Blackpool, the only way off the northern beaches is via stairs/pathways cut into some fairly steep cliffs. And the town is seperated from the clifftop by tramlines and a main road-- both of which have very irregular crossings. Not exactly the sort of place to cut across quickly.

All the best
