All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z #1 features a second drawing credited to Alan. The illustration of Albion in this handbook is a 'reconstructed' version of his appearance in panel 1, page 17 of Excalibur #66. His depiction in the original panel can be seen at www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/rcxdofp.htm#Albion ; for the handbook profile, his arms, legs and cape were reconstructed by the crew at Pond Scum & Jerron Quality Color so as to be fully visible.

D.R. & Quinch: Complete Rebellion Edition (or at least that was the title when it was solicited in Previews) is scheduled for release in February, and there's a listing for it at http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 50-7746201

ITEM!

The Alan Moore/Alan Davis collaboration from 2000 AD #322 (the 6-page 'Hyper-Historic Headbang') was reprinted in Alan Moore's Shocking Futures in 1986 (see http://www.2000adonline.com/?zone=repri ... e=shocking ), so it's likely that this tale will be reprinted again in The Complete Future Shocks, coming later this year from Rebellion. This book looks to be reprinting just the Alan Moore-written Future Shocks tales, so the Mike Collins/Alan Davis Future Shocks story from 2000 AD #509 ('It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World') would not be included.

Uncanny X-Men #213, featuring the classic Wolverine/Sabretooth battle pencilled by Alan Davis, has been reprinted several times over the years. But the first time it was reprinted was in Marvel Super-Heroes Omnibus from Marvel UK in 1987.

To see the cover of this UK 'Annual', along with a description of what else was reprinted within, check out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MARVEL-SUPERHEROE ... otohosting

Speaking of UK reprints...

ITEM!

I came across a listing for British Annuals in an old issue of Comics Buyer's Guide, and here's what was written about Batman Annual 1989:

"1989 London Editions (61 pages) all color comics: 3 stories: Det #570 repr: Barr/Davis Joker/Catwoman revillainized; + Joker, Scarecrow stories"

Since Detective Comics #570 continued from #569, and the Scarecrow was featured in #571, these are the 3 comics (all pencilled by Alan) most likely reprinted in this Annual.

The cover for Batman Annual 1989 (featuring Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez art) can be seen at http://www.purenostalgia.co.uk/acatalog ... oks_8.html

ITEM!

Batman Annual 1992, from World Distributors, has as its cover the Davis-pencilled art from page 2 of Detective Comics #569, cropped and re-colored for the cover. I don't know if anything by Alan Davis is reprinted within.

This cover can also be seen at http://www.purenostalgia.co.uk/acatalog ... oks_8.html

Before it was reprinted by Dark Horse in 1996 in Classic Star Wars: Devilworlds #2, the Alan Moore/Alan Davis 5-page tale "Rust Never Sleeps" from Marvel UK's Star Wars #156 was first reprinted in Marvel UK's Star Wars Summer Special 1983.

The Star Wars tales reprinted in the summer special are listed at http://www.geocities.com/mike_beidler/s ... whope.html (under 'classic star wars devilworlds'), while the cover can be seen at http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?imag ... %20Special

It looks like Rebellion has decided to go with 'The Complete D.R. & Quinch' as the title of their comprehensive reprinting of the destructive, dastardly duo's depictions in print. (It was originally solicited as 'D.R. & Quinch: Complete Rebellion Edition.') This makes sense - with the inclusion of the 'Agony' pages, these truly are the complete reprintings of the troublesome twosome's terrific tales, and the revised title is simpler, more memorable and gets straight to the point.

There was, however, a volume put out by Titan Books in 2001 that was also called The Complete D.R. & Quinch which did not include the 'Agony' pages - but the marketing department back then at Titan probably vetoed the title 'The Almost There But Not Quite Complete D.R. & Quinch.'

Check out Rebellion's listing for The Complete D.R. & Quinch over at their site at http://www.2000adonline.com/?zone=repri ... nch&Comic=

It does NOT look as though 'Hyper-Historic Headbang' by Alan Moore and Alan Davis (from 2000 AD #322) will be among the tales being reprinted in The Complete Future Shocks TPB, scheduled to ship in May from Rebellion. There's a preliminary cover for this book in the latest Previews (released Feb.22) featuring the names of 15 of Moore's artistic collaborators and, even though it's printed in a tiny size, I didn't see Alan Davis' name listed on the cover.

Granted, this may be an incomplete listing of the featured artists, but one would think that those at Rebellion would be wise enough to include Alan Davis' name in Previews if they were, in fact, reprinting any of his work.

Just to make sure, I e-mailed the public relations department at www.2000adonline.com regarding The Complete Future Shocks TPB, and I got this response - "Hyper-Historic Headbang will indeed be included in The Complete Future Shocks TPB; as will all of Alan Moore's Future Shocks."
