Re: Contribution to Bellamy's HEROS reprint?

The plot thickens. This is from the editor of the book, Peter Richardson: http://bookpalacebooks.blogspot.com.es/2012/07/heros-quick-update-before-i-head-of.html?showComment=1342001579777 "... in fact we are in communication with Alan at the moment ." ______________ I really hope a collaboration can...

Contribution to Bellamy's HEROS reprint?

BOOK PALACE is preparing a deluxe reprint of Frank Bellamy's HEROS THE SPARTAN for a December 2012 release, and they have recruited some big names to contribute to the package: http://bookpalacebooks.blogspot.com.es/2012/07/heros-quick-update-before-i-head-of.html "I'm very pleased to be able to ann...

Speaking of plans

At the risk of causing you further irritation… I noticed you recently heaped praise upon John Byrne on this very board ( “He is obviously also a great designer in his own right” ). Do you know what Byrne has been doing lately? Creator owned stuff for a non Big Two publisher, IDW: first, resuming and...

Re: Retirement plans?

Just beyond the channel there's a country where " the traditions of romanticised escapism, glamorous stereotypes and solid, fast paced, storytelling " not only never gotten anyone outmoded, but remain the backbone of a healthy and huge selling comic industry. However, I know Alan will never leave th...

Alan Moore's fabled scripts

Erik Larsen , one of Image Comics' founding fathers, is working on a revival of SUPREME, starting from Alan Moore's final script of the original series, which was never drawn. So somebody on his board made him this question: http://forums.imagecomics.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=772&p=35304#p35304 Bend...

Re: Can EXCALIBUR FOREVER be far behind?

Wow, thanks for the link. Several things to ponder. First off, "Alan's enthusiastic involvement" , the best 3 words I could heard, at least give me reassurance that Alan’s heart is in the right place, as he apparently would rather be doing this (or more Clandestine) than any of the projects he’s doi...

Re: Can EXCALIBUR FOREVER be far behind?

Dear Alan, I’ve spent the last couple of weeks reading the Captain Britain Omnibus (I had read the Delano stuff in the old trade paperback, but everything else was new to me), and the 3 volumes of Excalibur Visionaries reprinting issues #42-67, which I only had read once before, in its original comi...

Re: Thanks to Alan

What I'm going to say may seem contradictory, but while I totally agree in principle with Mr. Davis' outrage, I would cut Book Palace some slack. As far as I can see, they are a small press concern that is putting out very limited editions (a few hundred copies tops), so I seriously doubt the profit...

How much Davis in ORIGINS OF MARVEL COMICS #1?

Dear Alan, I think I'm as much a hardcore fan of yours as anyone here, but for instance, I don't buy books where you only do the cover, like FF right now. Now your latest solicited book is: ORIGINS OF MARVEL COMICS #1, a book that is "32 PGS" and "drawn by a roster of the hottest artists, including ...

You're the man! Thanks!

If it were up to me, those should definitely be included in the 3rd volume of Visionaries.

Re: DC covers collection?

Thanks! I just took the list of covers from here and trimmed out the non-DC stuff:

Of course, if this book ever happens, I'd like it to be as complete as possible. We'll have to wait and see how the Hughes book turns out first.
