There was a time, shortly after Marvel UK imploded, that I considered taking the ClanDestine to another company but, in my own mind, they had become part of the MU so I subsequently sold the rights to Marvel.

Re: Wowed by ClanDestine
I have been told the three annuals-- Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Wolverine—will be published at the end of the year. I wrote the plots and finished pencilling the first annual in 2009. I completed the DD book in 2010 and the Wolverine earlier this year-- so it has been a while to say the least. Th...

Re: When you leave a character...
As I’ve stated elsewhere, I tend not to follow characters after I’ve left the book—primarily to avoid being irritated. Having said that, I could never criticise any creator who follows my tenure because we’re all part of a creative continuum and I’m sure my treatment of Phoenix, and indeed Captain B...

Re: Thor is in your future projects?
Thanks for your kind words Humberto.
I do enjoy drawing Thor though I’m not a fan of the check chain mail.

Re: Rachel Summers/Grey Questions
1.Do you know why they changed her last name from Summers to Grey during your recent run on Uncanny X-Men? No Idea. 2. What are some of your favorite costumes for Rachel? The Dark Phoenix costume and the red leather hound costume. 3. Do you think you will ever get a chance to draw/write Rachel agai...

Re: Random EXCALIBUR Questions
Hi Paulo Upon your return to the title with #42, how far had you planned ahead and was there any sense of the book "writing itself"? I worked out the ‘long story’ up to issue 50 and beyond before writing the first episode. My brief from editorial (Terry Kavanagh) had been to resolve as many of the l...

Re: What's Next?
Members of the Clan appear in all three annuals-- which are stand alone stories for the title character but connect through the involvement of the Clan.
All of the Clan characters are exactly as seen in their last appearance, as if no significant time has passed.

Re: What's Next?
I finished the FF annual in 2009. The Daredevil annual in February 2010 and had been well into thumb-nailing the Wolverine annual pre Avengers Prime but, on returning to the job this year, discovered I had lost all of the files during the computer crisis I had last year. A major loss since I had dec...

Re: Bristol and beyond....
Will you be attending both days at the Bristol Int Comic Convention 2011? Yes, all being well, I'll be at Bristol all weekend. Will it possible to purchase a sketch and/or comic pages from you? I haven't decided what I'll take yet. Also, which of the Captain Britain (costume) incarnations is your f...

Re: Garth - Daily Mirror
Hi Ant I was always a fan of Frank Bellamy’s work and Garth in particular. His colour work tends to get most acclaim but, in my opinion, the evolution of his style on Garth was the more impressive. I have stated more than once over the years that Garth was part of my inspiration for my revision of B...

Re: Fantastic Four 585 Cover
No tongue in cheek. Nor any agenda to demean, denigrate or insult women. Drawing a cover to a comic for which there isn’t a script, let alone any interior art, means the cover artist is limited to the brief given by the editor/writer. In this instance I was asked to do a ‘Conanesque’ cover and was s...

Re: Inter-company Crossovers
Hi Paulo
I was never a fan of Inter-company crossover books so I was easily frightened off by the long-winded negotiations that plagued most Cross-over titles. Just not worth the hassle.

Re: Thanks to Alan
There are indeed contradictions in your ‘rant’, XIII, but I don’t want to get bogged down by responding to them and allowing the points I was making to be hijacked. First, the size of a company does not absolve it from moral or legal responsibility. Surely any company publishing a limited run aimed ...

Hi Keoni
I'm working on a 22 page one-off but I can't go into details.
Then I hope to finally finish the last of a trilogy of Annuals that will be of interest to ClanDestine fans.
