The long verticle panels are very handy to show height etc as you've stated, but they can also be used to carry a lot of text or speech from characters and to create a nice page layout ( included are 2 pages from 'The Wraith' issue 5, pencilled by me that use vertical panels....shameless plug over w...

Most of us who post here draw in some capacity or other...be that professionally, just for fun or somewhere between the two. I think the fact that this dicussion hasn't degenerated into churlish name calling or cheap barbs is a reflection of a mature group of people sharing information and exchangin...

Something similar to this topic was raised and discussed on The Wraith board by various creators involved in the books and readers, all about what has changed in modern comics, and it finally moved around to the technology side of it, most of us on there are old enough ( 32-42) to remember the older...

I agree that this is a massive subject. Art by it's very nature tends to be subjective to the individual viewing it. Comic book art is a commercial artform, the artist is hired to draw... by the same token so was most of what we class today as classical art that's hung in galleries, the artist being...

Hmmm, there does seem to be a leaning toward the scenario of Soylent Green in certain aspects, but I think that the old Doomwatch series seemed to have been pretty much bang on the money for it's predictions of the world and it's events.

All the best

Hi Darren, I've always been impressed with Jeffs' inking, having seen some of the covers and pages he's inked via DW etc. My goal is to learn something from everything I do and the people I have chance to work with, to convey the story better than I could before and to always improve upon my artwork...

Cheers for the reply, Alan. Looks like I'm going to be lucky. I've been told by Frank Dirscherl that Jeff Austin will be inking the issue I'm due to pencil later this year ( the story and how it ties in are still being working on by Frank and Joe Martino and the project's not due for print till next...

Best way to cover all bases?

Hi Alan, First off I'd like to say thank you to both you and Mark once again for taking time to chat and sign the issues of FF 'The End' I had in my grubby little hands at the Birmingham comic Show ( I've just about thawed out now... Damn it was cold!!) It's also great to see the double page spreads...

I know you can't give too much away, but........

Hi Alan, I'm still overjoyed at the return of The ClanDestine. One thing I'd like to know ( if possible?), will you be delving into the story of what transpired between Adam and Vincent? Or will you be teasing us with little bits of info here and there in the new stories? The reason I ask is the dyn...

Hi Jim, Yeah, that's how I ended up getting to pencil issue# 5, Frank had run an ad for pencillers on DW, he liked my stuff and hey presto, I got the job. The stuff I've posted on DW is mostly just done for myself or the odd commission I've had permission to show. Which artist is it that lives near ...

I'm sure this will be echoed by everyone here.....Congratulations on the return of The ClanDestine, I'm beyond happy that we all get to read the new adventures of this fabulous family. It...

If I remember correctly from an episode of 'Horizon' ( A UK science show), for M theory to work correctly and explain the universal expansion from the Big Bang onwards in conjunction with the theory of relativity and with other branches of theorectical physics, it was calculated that there has to be...

Alan, I'd already taken a look at the Frank Bellamy colour work on your site....... big fan of his too, used to read garth in the daily mirror everyday when I was a nipper. Not sure if you already know, but I read somewhere that The Trigan Empire was to be released in a series of hardcover volumes, ...
