Re: A few questions, Mr Davis

A colourist that makes his work indistinguishable from Mark's inks?! I don't even want to go there... Anyway, here's the link: http://johnnyboybaptista.deviantart.com/gallery/#Iron-Man-Story It's not finished yet, but you'll find there 5 consecutive sequential pages. Since there's a flashback in the...

A few questions, Mr Davis

Hi there, Alan! I bought the ClanDestine Blood Relative TPB yesterday, and while I didn't finish reading it yet, I felt that the overall look of the book wasn't as good as the original series. It was too dark and a bit muddy, whereas the first one had a brighter look. I feel it's because of the colo...

If I was John Buscema, I'd probably say that, too! He was one of the greatest!

Hmm... Once again, I'm amazed at the amount of replies originated by this topic. I guess I really toched a controversial matter here. Anyway, I'm back to inform all of you guys about my "digital" development since my last reply. I feel it's important to this discussion, giving a more "newbie hands-o...

Hmm... Interesting post here. When I started this subject, I wasn't thinking about the discussion of whether or not a comic artist is a real artist. IMHO, it depends on the artist. I think the great ones are easy to spot. Getting back to the original topic, I recently finished my first 100% digital ...

About digital work...

This is my second question to you, Mr. Davis, and it’s from a comic artist wannabe to a comic master artist :). It’s regarding digital art. What do you think of it? Do you think it’s the future of comics? I’m asking this because very recently I’ve decided to go digital 100%. Let me give you some bac...

(...)I am conscious of being categorised as producing ‘old style’ comics or comics that have no depth or substance. Sorry, but I have to disagree. I agree that you are an "old style comics" creator, but that doesn't mean your creations have "no depth ou substance". Quite the contrary - if we take a...

dear Mr. Davis...

Mr. Davis: I've just finished reading Modern Masters vol. 1, and I must confess that it was fun to learn and discover a lot of interesting things about you. First of all, I have to tell you this: I'm an aspiring comic artist! I have no hope whatsoever of ever being as good as you are, but since I'm ...

I simply loved "Superboy's Legion"!!! It was fun and entertaining - with some of the best art ever by the Davis & Farmer dynamic duo! I wished there was more, but it's a shame DC is so sales oriented!

1) My name is João. 2) I'm from Portugal. 3) I'm 28. 4) I tend to prefer mini-series to runs on ongoing series, so although Alan's second run on Excalibur was amazing, my favorites are Superboy's Legion and The Nail. I can't choose between them. 5) I don't remember very well, but I think it was Tale...
