Re: 16 year wait finally over

Jealous of you both as well. My original Alan Davis work consists of one piece (a page from Outsiders)inked by Paul Neary. I was actually lucky enough to get a sort-of original from Paul - a colour page from the Bloodlust graphic novel - basically it is a blue line copy of the page, painted by the w...

Re: Thanks to Alan

Hearing that Frank's widow was ignored in regard some form of royalty payment (even a small one would have been a nice gesture) has left a little bit of a sour tase in my mouth for buying those books now, but agreed, well done to Dez Skinn for getting at least comp copies to her. The closest thing t...

Brum

Alan

How was Birmingham this year? Was it a worthwile trip for you? And are you planning on Bristol and Brum next year? I might actually try and get to a convention for the first time in nearly 15 years if that's the case (if money and family allow).

Thanks to Alan

Not sure if this is the rght area to post this, but I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Alan for posting so much absolutely fabulous Frank Bellamy artwork on his website. In my humble opinion, there is not enough reprinted Frank Bellamy available to easily buy and I agree that a book on this great ar...

Re: Still attending BICS 2010?

If I was able to make it to Birmingham I would certainly have been happy with that! I wouldn't want to strain that hand of yours too much! I find the prelims very interesting as it gives a small insight into the working process. Enjoy Brum guys!

Updated stuff is always nice to see - I had no idea of some of the detail in the last X-Men stuff you and Mark had done. Beautiful to see in B&W

Sorry to be a pest, but when are you next likely to update your web page? Missing that fix of rare and wonderful art!

About the new Clandestine

Alan, Although we haven't seen much of what you are doing for the new Clan, how do you feel your art has changed/improved in the 10 years or so since you last visited with the family? I had always thought that your progression with regards storytelling and style when you started on the Clan was pret...

I voted for Adam, simply because Clan No5 is probably the finest issue of that series in my opinion. :)

Again, as a fanboy, I’d like to collaborate with John Byrne. Not for any but what I might learn. I thought that John Byrne might like to see this quote and so I took the liberty of quoting you (hope you don't mind). Anyhoo, this was Mr Byrne's answer: "I cannot image what Alan thinks he could learn...

New Art!

Alan - thanks for posting some new art and prelims to your site again. Reading your comments in the news button, I for one never see what you are giving us as a 'how to', rather it's more an insight into your working method and inspiration. I am particularly impressed by the (for want of a better wo...

Quite like the idea of this. I haven't any sketches either and any time I have come close to speaking to Alan, I've been struck dumb. I think the most I got from him was a signature on the 1988 UKCAC convention book in yellow highlighter no less (all I had on me at the time). The signature was on th...

My one complaint for the Rough Cut - different from any other Rough Cuts I have - is that they icluded the lettering over the pencilled artwork. Really put me off it a bit - it's now hard to look at the actual issue and look at Mark Farmer's inking because I didnt need to read it. Also, it made havi...

This is one Alan Davis comic that I have been searching for for a long time. This is the first chance I have had to see it. Gorgeous as normal for Mr Davis.
One thing it really strikes home for me is the organic scenery Alan does.
