Actually, since the death of Dai Thomas' spouse was referenced as early as Captain Britain I#8, the recorded Hulk and Thor encounters that best match that took place in New York are FF I#25-26 and Avengers I#2.

Okay. For those wondering, the death of Dai Thomas' spouse was said to take place in New York during a battle between the Hulk and "a super-villain" in that Guardian article, while Captain Britain II#1 features a one-panel fb which seems to show the Hulk and Thor in silhouette.

Ah. I had read that story in a "Greatest Story....Ever Told" anthology, but did not draw the connection to the Captain Britain story.
