Re: facebook?

I totally understand that -real- life is what is important. Telling 3000 people, you had a cup of coffee, seems more than a trifle redundant. However, if I may tkae the alternate stance, just for the perspective---I look at my kids and this generation (I'm 42) and see people having conversations in ...

Jubilee Alan Davis!

I was not sure where to post this, I didn't want to encroach on Ike's thread. With the Jubilee celabrations coming to an end last week, I was wandering around Asda's and I spotted ( http://direct.asda.com/george/womens-tops/captain-britain-top/GEM235330,default,pd.html?cm_mmc=Affiliate-_-AWin-_-Geor...

Your Website, in conjunction with this Forum, provides people with the opportunity to both see and hear things from the horses-mouth and I appreciate that!

Err, not callng you a horse...

Wallop.

When this comic started I related to this Jeckyl & Hyde character, who was the surrogate father figure. Particularly as at the time of reading I had just become a Father.

Regards,

Darren

Personally, I wish they had continued the numbering from Alan's last series. So this would be number 9. I'm really excited about this forthcoming series. Given I've stopped -all- my comics these days. This would be the first comic I'd have picked up since FF: The End. Alan, do you think that they (T...

My goal is to learn something from everything I do and the people I have chance to work with, to convey the story better than I could before and to always improve upon my artwork. Thanks for the reply. All the best Row. As noble as that is, I don't look at an inkers work on my own and think primari...

Hoo-boy...as if I wasn't -already- excited about Alan being back on the Clan!

I feel thoroughly teased now!

Row, I've worked with Jeff before and found him to be both professional and good natured. His inking skills are excellent and remind me a -little- of Terry Austin. In-so-much as there is a good deal of well oiled style there. The pieces he inked of mine, were -nothing- like I'd have inked them but t...

I can "hear" how annoying this question is going to be...very anal...and yet like some run away train, my curiosity has got the better of me. As such, i apologise in advance for the face you'll probably pull when you -get- the question... I was perusing your website, to look through all the pretty p...

The thing that annoys me most about the way they show the Cybermen is the stamping feet. It was fine a couple of times but now they seem to use it for some sort of shorthand for inevitability! Grrr, bugs me about as much as Hortatio Caine with his shades and amazing tilting head! "Please let me empa...

By the time you've learned to fit in with one companies idea of 'cool' they will have moved on to another idea of the same! [Let's face it, a change in the Editor or Editor-in-chief could do that over night!] Drawing from life is -never- bad advice but I've seen your work around for a while now and ...

Mark Farmer uses distilled water to dilute his Rotring ink. Why distilled water? And thanks for the inking tips. I'll hazard a guess at this...Mark lives in England who's water supply is drawn from underground and can need filtering. Distilled water would have no impurites that might react or adver...

In some cases it is that Marvel no longer has film of the original art so the 're-inked' art is traced from a published image. In other instances, the figure was incomplete in the original art (cropped or overlapped) or requires some sort of revision (enlarging)-- both of which applied to the Albio...

Inking

I was staring at the Quicksilver and Flash piece you did [http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/images/WJust1Page.jpg] trying to prize out any little gems that I might glean from it, as one does. In this moment of zen-bliss, it struck me that we don't see -enough- of you inking yourself Alan. I really l...
